This is the 2nd of my "Jar Ladies" series Combining the female form with plant form symbolizes the communion I feel with nature and the sense of mystery and stillness that comes with that experience. The jar theme is symbolic of my personal growth process ,organically represented in the nature imagery of growing beyond the limits (enclosed in a jar) of self identity. Breaking down some of the specific symbolism; - The toe touching the ground with a flower emerging out of it is representiveof new ground,or new life. -The jar containing seeds of growth, of potential. - The feet on the other lady off the ground represents transition being in "mid air". - The head with roots cut off in the jar represents a disconnection to and seeking connection to wholeness of self as the roots are on the shoulders and the head (ideas) needs integrating into the whole self or rest of the body.
